Spain Burgos overtakes Zamalek to basketball World Cup final

Spain Burgos basketball team beat Zamalek of Egypt on Friday in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup (78-61), beating Brazil’s Flamengo in the final .

 

Zamalek started the game well, but the Spanish team managed to excel in the first period, 23-16 .

 

The title holder continued to excel in the second period, finishing 44-34 in his favour, before finishing third 63-47 .

 

Zamalek will face the U.S. Lakeland Magic team, to determine the third place in the tournament, which is being held in Egypt .

Franco Papley, the Brazilian basketball player of Flamengo, expressed his great happiness with his team’s victory over Lake Land City in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup.

 

“We played better, our focus was greater, we stopped the gravity of lakeland’s most important players, and we defended well,” Papley said at a press conference after the match.

 

“It doesn’t matter who we face in the final, it’s going to be tough in any case.

 

“But it is more difficult to face Zamalek, the owner of the land, and inevitably who will focus more and better prepare to win.

Egypt will host the Club World Cup between The 11th and 13th of this month, at the Dr. Hassan Mustafa Hall.

“Zamalek (African Champion), Borgos of Spain, Representative of Europe, Brazilian Flamengo of South America, And Lakeland Magic of the United States, G-League champion and NBA representative” will participate in the tournament.

Zamalek is participating in the tournament for the first time in the history of Egyptian clubs as african champions.
